Greetings
again from Nashville's Oat Central...
the home of countless
adventures,
good times, and a lot of great music.
Things
have been hoppin' around here lately. In the recording studio,
producer
Steve
Haggard and engineer Andrew
Hooker are continuing
work
on the upcoming Garry Jackson album.
(It'll be Garry's fourth
Wild
Oats Records release, and is due in early 2017.)
Just
a reminder: our acclaimed monthly Oat Songwriter
Showcase
is held
on the
second Wednesday of
each month. "The Oatcase" is
held
at Nashville's Commodore Grille, and is now in its twelfth
year.
The
next showcase is comin' up on Wednesday, October 12th.
Also
in the studio these days is our flagship artist Steve
Haggard,
working
on his brand-new album. (It'll be his seventh.) Asked when
the
new project will be finished, Mr. Haggard replied, "Good
question".
Steve
is also working on new tracks with the irrepressible Todd
Elgin,
and
planning sessions with one of our favorite Wild Oats artists, the
excellent
singer/songwriter Bryon Russell.
Both projects are being
produced
by Steve Haggard
and engineered by Andrew Hooker.
Ah, it's
time to plug our favorite radio program. It's none other than
The
Haggard & Haggard Radio Hour, hosted
by Steve Haggard. This
excellent
show is broadcast every Tuesday afternoon
(4:00-5:00
PM,
Central
Time). In and around Nashville, you can catch the show on
Radio
Free Nashville
/ WRFN 107.1 FM & 103.7
FM.) You can listen
live
in streaming audio -- worldwide -- at www.radiofreenashville.org
Speaking
of Steve Haggard
and Andrew Hooker,
they're launching a
new
internet TV show, "Pegram After Dark...
Live
At The Cave!"
The
taping
for the program's first episode took place recently... with very
special
guests Walter Egan
and Joel Alan Lehman.
In addition
to the individual recording projects now underplay, we're
planning
a compilation CD of all-new material by an assortment of our
Wild
Oats Records artists. It'll be called
The Class Of 2017,
and will be
released
in January 2017. (Or maybe February.)
What's
comin' up in
the future, you ask? (Okay, you didn't actually
ask...
but we'll tell you anyway.) As always, we have a whole bunch
of irons
in the fire. There are a couple of European
tours in the works;
a new
CD release from Kimberly King;
the long-awaited live CD from
Steve
Haggard, Joel Alan Lehman & The Nashville All-Stars, and a lot
more.
So check back with us
often.
