Wild Oats Records' own Steve
Haggard& Gail Lloyd spent nine days in France -- in Caen,
Normandie, to be exact -- in September 2004 acting as Nashville's
goodwill ambassadors at La Foire Internationale de Caen, a huge fair/expo
that attracts 500,000 visitors over the course of
ten days. Steve & Gail were representing Sister Cities Nashville, an excellent not-for-profit organization dedicated to cultural, educational and commercial exchange between Nashville and its five international Sister Cities. (Caen being one of them.) Steve & Gail performed twice daily to enthusiastic crowds at the popular Nashville booth, and with two other Sister Cities Nashville members, Jim Ramsey and Cliff Goldmacher, handed out assorted brochures and tourist information about Nashville, sold CDs by many of our city's fine musical artists, and talked with people from all over the world. (Senegal, Russia, Bolivia, Germany, Morocco and Thailand were just a few of the countries whose booths were near Nashville's.) |
