SHOTGUN
ALLEY
Lead
guitarist Marty Gibson describes Shotgun Alley, who appeared on Catchin'
Fire,
the
second CD in Wild Oats Records' New Artist Series, as "a bunch of
rednecks from the
Illinois
cornfields." This rockin' five-piece band, which unfortunately has since
broken up,
was
led by two fine singer/songwriters, Melvin Reynolds Jr & Joshua Hernandez;
featured
the
aforementioned Mr. Gibson on guitar; and was anchored by the rhythm section
of bassist
Bryan
Gibson (Marty's brother) and drummer Michael Waterman. Shotgun
Alley played a
rough
and rowdy brand of "country with a metallic edge" that packed a
lot of punch -- check
out
their music clip of "Daddy'd Never Come In Here" below -- but they could
also deliver an
emotional
power ballad. To buy a copy of Catchin'
